*Update below*

The gruesome discovery was made about 2:00 p.m. yesterday (Jun. 7) in Ciudad Mante, in extreme southern Tamaulipas. The victims included 11 men and three women, whose identities have not yet been determined. A witness reported that a man drove up and parked the three ton truck just outside of municipal offices, got out and casually walked away. The Mexican drug cartel Los Zetas is active in the area, as is the Cártel del Golfo. A narcomensaje, or executioner's note, was left with the bodies, which is frequently the case in mass executions in this country. But authorities didn't immediately disclose the contents.
Yesterday's butchery in Tamaulipas was the third major incident in the region since May 4.
June 23 - In an almost identical incident another 14 mutilated corpses, 10 men and four women, were found in the same town this morning, in an abandoned vehicle in the central business district. A narcomensaje was found with the remains, with a warning for the Cártel del Golfo. That almost surely means the execution was the work of Los Zetas. Hallan 14 cadáveres en Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas.
