A Jurrasic Park in Mexico?

Earlier today I posted some remarks made yesterday in Madrid by the Peruvian author Mario Vargas Llosa, winner of the 2010 Noble Prize for Literature. Vargas Llosa said he fears that Mexico's Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) will almost surely recapture the presidency next year, an office it lost in 2000. The author characterized PRI as "disgusting and detestable" with a "lawless" history. Vargas Llosa obviously is not fond of PRI.

Today the national leader of Mexico's far left Democratic Revolution Party (PRD), which narrowly lost the 2006 election to Felipe Calderon, piled on. He said that a return of PRI (with its antiquated political ideas) to Los Pinos (Mexico's White House) would be "the worst tragedy for Mexico," and would be like reopening a "Jurrasic Park with PRI dinosaurs" running around.
