"Fight fire with fire:" drug-war weary locals in Nuevo Leon get weapons training

That's what's happening in the town of García, Nuevo León, a community of about 40,000 on the outskirts of Monterrey, scene of the horrific August 25 arson attack on the Casino Royale that killed 52 persons. The local police chief in García says 3,000 people have already signed up for the program, sick and tired of the endless violence in NL. The chief knows all about crime. Drug hit men have tried twice to assassinate him this year. More details here: http://www.theyucatantimes.com/2011/09/citizens-take-up-arms-in-nuevo-leon/
